I recently asked in a poll if you guys were interested in barre workouts that could be done at home. And many of you said, what’s barre? So here’s the low down.

Barre fitness is a type of workout that’s great for the whole body. It’s ideal if you're just getting into exercise. It’s low impact on your joints, can be modified for all fitness levels, and can be done in the comfort of your own home! It helps to improve your balance, build strength, flexibility, burn calories, and improve stability by creating a stronger core. As you get more comfortable and fit, you can ramp up the intensity by adding weights and more challenging moves.

Here are some of the major benefits it offers:

  • Total body workout
  • No impact on the joints
  • Builds strength
  • Improves balance
  • Tones muscles
  • Improves posture
  • Increases flexibility
  • Burns calories
  • Improves mental focus
  • Improves endurance
  • Tones stomach muscles
  • Strengthens glutes
  • Reduces stress

Oh and, you can do it with no shoes! That’s one of my fav parts :)
