Why I Choose to be Gluten Free

I don’t have Celiac disease (a complete intolerance or inability to digest gluten). But, I do choose to be gluten free. Why? Let me share a few fun facts about gluten with you:

  1. Consuming too many products that contain wheat puts added stress on our digestive system and weakens the lining (hello leaky gut)
  2. Hybridization, the wheat in the US is being cultivated to contain more gluten for texture and preservation.
  3. Glyphosate (AKA, Round Up) is a chemical used on GMO crops (wheat, corn, soy, canola) and causes cancer!

Whether or not you are sensitive to gluten, the bottom line is, it’s just not good for your health, especially your gut. It’s so easy to find healthy gluten-free options, you could easily cut this out and still eat delicious food! I’ve been doing it for years! Here are a few of my fav gf brands:
